Everything you want and need to know about our notebooks.... In my class, we learn history through examining documents, photographs, videos, music, taking notes, participating in debates, creating projects, etc. Due to this, we CREATE our own textbook to use for the year! Each student is responsible for his or her notebook from September through June, and is expected to be in class everyday. The notebook MUST have pages of size 8.5 x 11 inches, and have at least 100 pages. The Five Star One Subject notebook is PERFECT. Please have your cover decorated with visuals about you - your hobbies, family, friends, sports or movie stars, etc. You MUST have your name clearly appear on the cover! You must also have your pages numbered FRONT and BACK from 1-200! Everyday in class, we will complete clearly numbered "notebook pages". You will have available time and materials to attach your numbered notebook pages to their corresponding numbered page in your notebook. (Just match the numbers and attach!) If you do not attach them in class, you are welcome to do it after school, or at home. PAGES THAT ARE NOT ATTACHED DO NOT RECEIVE CREDIT. YOUR NOTEBOOK IS YOUR TEXTBOOK. All information and facts needed for tests and projects WILL be found in your notebook as long as you keep up! If you do not complete an assignment in class, EMAIL ME and I will send you the readings or worksheet that you need! GRADING YOUR NOTEBOOK! The notebook counts as 30% of your quarter grade. You may not be warned when there will be a notebook check, so please update it EVERYDAY! Expect a notebook check every one to two weeks. |
